Pink Victorian

The reason may sound simple, but the colors of this day really put a spring in my step.  Unplanned, I put together an ensemble of pink and magenta hues, and stumbled upon a darling home with the same color scheme.

My look started with a vintage pill box hat from Polished Raven.  With a pinwheel base of
powder pink, lavender, and magenta, this hat is topped with a mini bouquet of floral, making me feel like a walking 1950s ceramic head vase.  Since this accessory started the planning of my
outfit, I felt comfortable mixing these shades together in my outfit.   A 1950s style lavender pink pencil skirt, powder pink lace blouse, and dark pink marabou shrug was already quite the statement of pink until..... I found a matching house!

It was a dream to stumble upon this turn of the century Victorian Folk style home with
lavy-pink scalloped siding, gingerbread trim, an adorable jig saw fence, and not one but TWO magenta doors.  Truly meant to be!

Hayworthy in Heaven

Greetings from the Anniversary Room at The Madonna Inn🌹

Icy, minty, blues are just the thing to celebrate and sip champagne in any season. This room is romantic and rustic, with gilded furniture and a heavenly headboard featuring french floral bouquets & filigree...

As we transition into Spring, I'm enjoying this silky & sweet surrounding with pretty pastels, as I primp my way into welcoming the start of Pisces (my sign)!

My outfit is a satin dressing gown from the 1940s, Rita Hayworth style, with gold gimp trimming and a bias-cut body style. My heels are gold platforms from the 1940s, and of course, I'm always primping with Besame Cosmetics!

Leopard Like Lombard

Rarely do I dress in all black, but if it's trimmed in leopard, I'm all in!  This is also particularly fitting to pair with this black, vintage, veil hat from my friends at Polished Raven.  Although not a typical accessory worn by many today, I still enjoy taking my outfits up notch for weddings, Sunday tea, oh heck I'll wear a hat anytime the outfit goes!  On a day like today when I'm out for a shopping trip in the historic community of Old Towne Orange, I am not alone when it comes to accessorizing.  With homes over 100 years old, and regulations in place to maintain the character and history of it's downtown and surrounding neighborhood, the residents and visitors also exude a charm in their personal style.

When I acquired this leopard trimmed blazer from Jool's Couture, I thought of one of my favorite photograph's.  The leopard loving Carole Lombard!  In her short time of existence, she did so much to represent women in the film industry, as well as take on a strong shopping habit of leopard clothing and accessories!  Shown below is Lombard in two leopard trimmed outfits.

Pink & Nude

Hello February! There's still a wind chill, and some room for fabulous fur ensembles featuring fawn & pretty pastels. Today's OOTD is a neutral nude, accented with peachy pink accessories.

Our newest fur boa color in our shop is Amber, and truly a staple for any vintage look, in any era. I'm wearing Betty's Boa alongside a vintage 1950s Lilli Ann suit jacket, and a 1950s pink, plaid, wool skirt. An overcoat of pink and amber fur is just the thing to complete this pinky nude look.
