Dove Grey & Holloway

It's a New Year! Although the skies may not be clear, it's days like these that we cherish. Rain doesn't have to be a pain, and more clouds are due in the Golden State, which is dreary, but totally dreamy. Today's Outfit of the Day is of silvery dove grey, with accents of pretty pastel tones of pink & lavender. Winter themes are always fun, and its a lovely feeling to keep warm, while sparkling in silver screen tones.

This jacket is circa 1950s, from Hamburg's, styled by Natalie Green. It's of darling dove grey flecked fabric, with a hint of a blue hue, making those pinks & purples pop. The buttons are bakelite, finished with crystals, giving a little extra glimmer to the grey. It features a white contrasting lapel and pointed pockets for an ultra 1950s bombshell look.

These showpiece shoes are a pair from the 1940s that I found deadstock, by Miller & Son's, New York. They are satin ivory, with grey and silver floral embroidery, finished with gold accents. An excellent option to add alongside  blonde fur, curls, and pearls!

Holloway is here in more ways than one! Wearing Vivien of Holloway's Pink Donegal Pencil skirt equals business - bombshell style, and Mad Men's Joan Holloway would surely approve of this office getup!

This mid-century Marilyn Monroe style wouldn't be complete without some classic short pincurls, and pearl earrings. A large boa also adds decadence, while doing just the trick of keeping me toasty.

As you can see, adding some grey to your Winter's day, doesn't always have to mean drab and dreary. Happy January and cheers to 2017!
