Purple & Pink in Palm Springs

Pinks, purples, and Palm Springs! A vintage novelty Polynesian frock was perfect for the city full of mid century modern, and Tiki - and it's just about getting to be that time again for high heat at this desert Oasis. Palm Springs is always full of Pink Collar fun, and filled with color blocking throughout, so I'm always sure to dress accordingly! As we get closer to summer, let's bask in the glow that is Palm Springs, as I paint the town pink <3

Monica in Martinique

Bombshells love Banana Leaves, and especially those in the gardens and wallpaper of the iconic Pink Palace in Beverly Hills.“The Original” Martinique Banana Leaf wallpaper, was created by decorator Don Loper in 1942 for the one and only, Beverly Hills Hotel. This hotel, that has seen its share of silver screen starlets such as Marilyn Monroe and Gloria Swanson, is our go-to playground when it comes to anything pink, glamorous, nostalgic, and true to Californian charm.

The Monica dress from Glamour Bunny was an excellent choice to prance around the Pink Palace in, especially in the Hotel's signature colors. The Beverly Hills Hotel is known for its lush, green, landscaping and leaved color themed, paired with pretty pastel pink, and sleek black accents.

Tara wears the Monica in emerald green, and
Ashlyn wears the Monica in classic black.

The Monica dress is one of those oh-so-classic numbers that can be styled so many different ways. What we love most, is the unique strap detail, and the adorable, and functional front pockets! We styled her with some matching pink and green Martinique print scarves, and a pink raffia purse.

Sarongs in Spring

Stepping into Spring season in a Sarong dress is how we prefer it! Especially when wearing Viven of Holloway - one of our top favorites in authentic looking reproduction clothing. With tones of classic white and emerald green, we debuted the perfect Spring ensemble amongst the lush greenery and fancy foliage of The Beverly Hills Hotel. As you know, The Pink Palace is a pink-collar playground, rich with history, elegance and decadence since 1912.

The Sarong style dress, was a popular pattern of the 1940s, and especially the 1950s. Tropical themed Tiki parties were all the rage after WWII, as this dress style was quickly adopted and seen on every glamour girl around, usually made of elaborate cotton prints, or Asian brocade satin.

Vivien of Holloway is well known for their perfected pattern of Sarong and Bolero sets, completely true to vintage. This is one of those pieces that we need in absolutely every color, and VOH delivers that! Available in solid cottons, Hawaiian prints, and Asian satin brocade, you can easily find your staple Sarong for any occasion.

Weather you need a dress for cocktails, or a comfortable cotton summer dress, the VOH Sarong is perfect for any occasion and look. Go 1950s Bombshell glam, or 1940s pretty Polynesian. We could go on forever about the immaculate tailoring, but the photos can do all the talking here! We just adore the mid-calf, straight skirt, nipped waist, and beautiful bust.
