OOTD : Jungle Red

- Outfit of the day -

" Jungle Red "

This week's outfits touch on an early 60s Mod theme, with a shorter hemline seen in the 60s, and leopard fur accents. This little, late, 50s number, is a bright red / orange tone in honor of Halloween, by designer Bobbie Brooks. It is a classic fitted shape, with 3/4 sleeves, and made of wool.

The leopard print is a great addition, blending harmoniously the camel colored coat's cocoa fur trim, with some nude platform pumps. I picked a deep chocolate alligator clutch to keep it exotic, and of course, my favorite vintage inspired Miu Miu shades in "Havana."

Jungle Red comes to mind when describing this outfit, reminding me of the mistress Joan Crawford plays in "The Women" (1939). With "Jungle Red" polish on her nails, the color was described as  wicked, vivid, brighter–"willingly able to make you into the most disarmingly dangerous dame this side of the south seas." (Especially when accompanied by leopard print!)
