Blue Hawaii in Tara Starlet

Tara Starlet is a totally unique label out of the UK, with an aesthetic that somehow captures every aspect of historic costume that we adore. From fun fiesta, to tropical tiki, and wicked western wear - rest assured you can find it at Tara Starlet! Tara actually comes from a background of costume design, which is evident in her vintage inspired patterns and prints. With a passion for Film, Art & Theater (just like us Pink Collar Girls) she has somehow infused all of these elements into her designs, resulting in completely distinctive designs for us dames with discriminating taste!

Ashlyn: I especially resonate with her unique story and beginnings, as it reminds me so much of mine. Tara started as a mother-daughter duo, and she continues her heroic efforts to carry on her mother's vision after losing her to cancer, creating a successful and thriving label. I was reminded of when I started my label as a father-daughter duo, and he too lost his battle with cancer, so I commend Tara Starlet for her passion, perseverance, and strength! <3

Another wonderful thing about Tara Starlet is that all garments are made locally in London, and price points are very fair, with great quality garments. We were so thrilled with our Hawaiian Playsuit sets, and could definitely see the true-to-vintage, historic costuming details in the sewing and construction. The darting in the bust, and side zip with button closure on the shorts, made us feel us though we were wearing an original Koret of California from the 1940's!

The skies and the Pacific Ocean were brilliantly blue, and we were instantly taken back in time, to Blue Hawaii. Sometimes it's fun to let our pincurls down, and enjoy our California beaches in all their glory, frizzy hair or not! We took a stroll to the historic Dory Fleet, which has been a fish market since 1891. Tucked along the Newport Beach Pier, this little fish market is a charmer, eliciting nostalgia and simpler times of eras passed.

We couldn't forget the 8mm camera, and some vintage accessories to pair with our Tara Starlet

This one-of-a-kind print by Tara Starlet has us swooning by the sea! Complete with all our favorite summer colors: blues, mints, pinks, lemon with an authentic pretty Polynesian print.

Tara wears a Miu Miu Begonia Bag and bangles, the perfect accessory for this Tikitastic ensemble.

Showing off the gams, Grable style! The high waist shorts and 1940's cut are very flattering as well as super comfy and cute. Cotton is soft and crisp, creating a tailored silhouette.

It's all in the details! bangles & a moon manicure match perfect with our Tara Starlet 1940's beach look. We love the tie tops because they are fully adjustable, and can you tie as tight or loose as you wish. Shorts can be rolled up or down, depending on your mood.

There you have it, the two piece Hawaiian set in all it's glamour and glory. The tie top and shorts are purchased separately, but having both pieces makes for endless ensembles and combinations, and we're all for that!

We'll leave you with the ultimate Pink Collar Casanova, Elvis <3

Aloha!
