Blue Rose Swimsuit by Lucy B

This Lucy B x Pink Collar campaign is dear to our hearts for a number of reasons. To begin, Lucy B's designer Michelle Jouvence founded the brand in order to fulfill a unique niche in the swimwear and lingerie industry, based on her love of old glamour and the lack of such in the industry. Ashlyn, has a very similar tale, as she once founded a lingerie inspired swimwear line for the very same reasons. As you know, there is some rich history behind our name "The Pink Collar Life" and Lucy B is founded on the same notions.

In the days of I Love Lucy and WW2, things were made to last and clothing elegantly highlighted a woman’s feminine beauty. Michelle’s excitement for vintage fashion came from the endearing memories of her grandmother, who never went out without wearing her red lipstick. Us Pink Collar girls can relate, as our grandmothers have greatly influenced us, too!

Fixated in the classic nostalgia of yesteryear, where a woman’s curves were decorated to perfection, Michelle founded Lucy B’s signature, vintage-inspired style in 1999. Sixteen years later, Lucy B is still growing strong with a flagship store in California. Lucy B is located in Long Beach, a city Tara & Ashlyn know very well <3

We were feeling very inspired by one of our favorite shades, powder blue, and had been brainstorming with our friend Susana of Vestige Photography about a special "blue collar" shoot for her upcoming book - Kittens and Kulture! We knew instantly that the Blue Rose Swimsuit by Lucy B would be the perfect star to steal the show...

We cannot gush enough over the aesthetic and fit of this beautiful blue suit. It is extremely comfortable and soft, but yet hugs in all of the right places without feeling too constricted. Tara also has a hard time finding fashionable one pieces that fit her torso length, and this design by Lucy B has earned an A ++.

Not only is it comfortable, but Oh-so-flattering and swoon worthy with its pretty petal detail blooming along your curves! You can opt for a strapless look (straps are removable) or stay with support. This piece is not only good for a beachside bather, but we would totally wear it out, possibly styled under a skirt. Versatility and Va Va Voom!

Once again, our friend Amber Foxx's time capsule home was the perfect set for our campaign, with beautiful baby blues present in her all-original couches, lamps, and trinkets.

As you know, we are in love with the Dolly Sisters and our powder blue marabou is reminiscent of the robes worn by Betty Grable & June Haver

Another one of our glamour icons, Miss Mamie Van Doren, powdered to perfection in blue

To complete the look, we were adorned in our mystic teardrop earrings from Oblong Box Shop. These have a gorgeous sleek mid-century design in a classic ivory tone with sparkling stones! Of course, our look isn't complete with our 1950's lucite spring-o-lators <3

There is just one of these beautiful suits in a size large left in the Lucy B etsy shop, so hurry here before it's gone for good! Lucy B is in the midst of launching new styles of high waist swimsuits and retro one-pieces. They also will be offering more stylish options for women who want more coverage during swimsuit seasons.
